Anti-wrinkle injections are a non-surgical cosmetic treatment for moderate to severe vertical frown lines, horizontal forehead lines, and lines radiating from the corners of the eyes (crow's feet).
Anti-wrinkle injections work by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles, reducing the muscle activity that causes persistent lines to form. Due to current government regulations, the specific anti-wrinkle agent used by Dr Banky cannot be named on this website.
The product used is a naturally occurring purified protein that safely and effectively relaxes the muscles of the face. Following treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled, while the untreated facial muscles continue to function normally.
Anti-wrinkle injections usually take around 10 to 30 minutes to administer and do not require anaesthesia. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Improvements to frown lines will be noticeable after 7 days and the effect can last between three to six months. You will require repeat injections once your frown lines begin to reappear.
This product is also very successful in the treatment of excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) of the palms, soles and under-arms.
The agent in anti-wrinkle injections is a prescription only medicine and should only be administered by a medical practitioner.
