Rosacea
Rosacea
Rosacea is a common problem, found on the central part of the face. It is more common in women, and in those with fair skin.

A tendency to flush easily is followed by a persistent redness on the cheeks, chin, forehead and nose. Crops of small inflamed red bumps and pustules may also develop.
The cause of rosacea is ‘multifactorial’ (lots of causes).
Treatment includes avoiding triggers such as alcohol, too much exercise, high and low temperatures, spicy foods, stress and sunlight (sunscreen should be worn). Prescribed topical creams, oral antibiotics, oral Isotretinoin and vascular lasers can be used. No treatment can be guaranteed to switch rosacea off forever, however, treatments can control symptoms. Dr Banky will determine which treatment is best for you.
