To see Dr Banky, you will need a referral from your general practitioner or referring specialist. A referral will enable you to obtain a monetary rebate from Medicare for your consultation – for further information please see the section on Fees.
A referral will also enable Dr Banky to communicate with your doctor about the nature of your condition and the treatment he has recommended.
A referral from your General Practitioner is valid for 12 months. A referral from another specialist is valid for 3 months. Once a referral has expired, you will need to obtain a new referral to continue to see Dr Banky.
If you do not hold a valid Medicare card, you will not be able to obtain any monetary rebate from Medicare. However, if you have overseas medical insurance, please speak directly with your insurance provider to determine whether they will cover any of your consultation costs.
