Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic disease of the immune system that appears on the skin, usually in the form of thick, red, scaly patches.

It equally affects both males and females. Both genetics and environmental factors play a role in psoriasis. Smoking and alcohol can both worsen existing skin psoriasis.
Psoriasis can also affect the joints (typically the hands and spine) and nails.
There are a number of treatments available for psoriasis including topical creams and ointments, ultra-violet light, oral medications, injections and sometimes hospitalisation. Dr Banky will discuss these options with you and prescribe the best treatment for your psoriasis.
