Atypical or dysplastic naevi
A dysplastic or atypical naevus is a 'funny' mole that appears different from that of common moles.

They are benign (non-cancerous) lesions, however in some cases they may need to be excised in order to exclude a melanoma.

Individuals with multiple dysplastic naevi are at much higher risk of developing melanoma and therefore in this instance they need to be checked regularly by Dr Banky.
